Job summary

CNA in the National Accounts Property Equipment Breakdown unit seeks an Underwriting Specialist to manage highly complex monoline Equipment breakdown risks and drive pricing strategies. You will work with brokers, agents and producers to secure new business and optimize profitability.

You will mentor junior colleagues, leverage CNA systems for underwriting, and contribute to strategic projects while maintaining regulatory compliance and market awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional designations preferred.
• Typically 3+ years underwriting experience in equipment breakdown or property.
• Two Underwriter positions available: Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite highly complex risks within authority limits, using diagnostic analysis.
• Price complex risks for assigned book based on financial and market data.
• Make recommendations on underwriting policy and pricing strategy.
• Analyze profitability and prepare reports for management.
• Market products through agencies and brokers; maintain relationships with large producers.
• Mentor less experienced underwriters and contribute to training.
• Utilize CNA systems for day-to-day underwriting activities.
• Lead special underwriting projects and presentations.
