Job summary

Dymax, based in Torrington, Connecticut, is seeking an Equipment Assembly Technician to assemble UV curing and dispensing equipment, following drawings, BOMs, and SOPs to meet quality and safety standards.

You will maintain ERP records, manage inventory, and participate in continuous improvement with the Production Manager, delivering accurate workmanship and timely milestones.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/equivalent.
• 1+ year experience in equipment assembly, maintenance, inspection, and/or quality control; electronics assembly preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and procedures as well as routinely use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assemble equipment and related products by following engineering drawings, BOMs, work orders, and SOPs.
• Assemble components into subassemblies and finished units using hand tools, power tools and fixtures.
• Eliminate discrepancies by testing finished goods and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain ERP records with accurate input entries and transfers.
• Maintain inventory by checking stock, placing orders, and communicating issues to management.
• Support continuous improvement by addressing quality concerns and bottlenecks with the team.
• Develop assembly techniques and document best practices for existing and new products.

About You

We’re seeking a results-focused, innovative, self-driven and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Equipment Assembly Technician. Based out of Torrington, Connecticut, you will consistently meet or surpass customer expectations by efficiently assembling UV curing and dispensing equipment while also meeting quality standards, deadlines, lines-on-time, results metrics, and maintaining safety diligence and assembly best practices.

You will:

• Accurately assemble equipment and related products by following and interpreting engineering drawings, bills of materials, work orders, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Assemble components into larger subassemblies and finished units by inspecting, fitting, and fastening parts with hand tools, small power tools, and fixtures
• Eliminate product discrepancies and nonconformances by thorough examination and testing of finished goods, peer reviewing work quality standards, and identifying and troubleshooting quality issues then implementing corrective actions to prevent future recurrence
• Maintain dependable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) records by performing transactional integrity through accurate input entries and by executing key electronic transfers and search functions
• Maintain supply inventory by checking quantities in stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of orders. Also, by proactively communicate inventory issues to manager and – under the Production Manager’s direction – researching inventory discrepancies
• Facilitate continuous improvement by identifying potential sources of quality concerns and production bottlenecks then – under the Production Manager’s direction – problem-solving issues and innovating solutions
• Develop and fine-tune assembly techniques and procedures by establishing and documenting best practices then providing timely feedback to Engineering and Production Support teams for both existing products and new product development processes.

We are looking for you to have:

• High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
• 1+ year(s) experience in equipment assembly, maintenance, inspection, and/or quality control; experience in electronics assembly preferred
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and procedures as well as routinely use screwdrivers, pliers, electric screwdrivers, and other hand tools
• Computer navigation and utilization skills essential
• Experience with JDE E1 or other ERP system preferred
• Proven capacity to be precise, detail-oriented, and quality- and safety-focused

Salary Range:

$23 per hour

Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
