Job summary

Forsman Farms, Inc. Outside Maintenance Technician role focuses on keeping exterior farm facilities in top condition and supporting safe, efficient operation of equipment and site infrastructure.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair machinery, handle groundskeeping and pest control, and ensure biosecurity and safety standards are followed. You will operate tractors and other heavy equipment in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on farm equipment and facility systems.
• Operate equipment including tractors, skid steers, payloaders, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
• Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, augers, feed bins, belts, chains, sensors, generators, and related equipment.
• Complete grounds maintenance activities including snow removal, feed spill cleanup, weed control, and general site upkeep.
• Remove garbage, manure, and mortalities as assigned.
• Support pest control activities by maintaining bait stations and monitoring for rodent, fly, and animal activity.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate maintenance and supply needs.
• Complete maintenance records and preventive maintenance checklists.
• Follow all safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), biosecurity, and PPE requirements.
• Identify, report, and address conditions that may impact safety, animal welfare, biosecurity, or production.
• Assist with training team members and supporting daily operational needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Mantener y reparar transportadores, motores, sinfines (augers), silos de alimento, bandas, cadenas, sensores, generadores y equipos relacionados.
• Realizar actividades de mantenimiento de terrenos, incluyendo remoción de nieve, limpieza de derrames de alimento, control de maleza y mantenimiento general del sitio.
• Retirar basura, estiércol y mortalidades según se le asigne.
• Apoyar las actividades de control de plagas mediante el mantenimiento de estaciones de cebo y la supervisión de actividad de roedores, moscas y otros animales.
• Monitorear los niveles de inventario y comunicar las necesidades de mantenimiento y suministros.
• Completar registros de mantenimiento y listas de verificación de mantenimiento preventivo.
• Cumplir con todos los requisitos de seguridad, bloqueo y etiquetado (LOTO), bioseguridad y uso de equipo de protección personal (PPE).
