Job summary

PCB Piezotronics, a leader in vibration sensors, is seeking an Equipment and Maintenance Engineer for the 2nd shift in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on installing, maintaining and optimizing semiconductor equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the facility.

The position requires an Associate’s degree in a technical field and 5+ years of hands-on experience with machinery and semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom environment, plus strong root cause analysis.

The Equipment and Maintenance Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining and optimizing semiconductor equipment and machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operations across the facility. Supports facilities infrastructure and maintenance requirements. Training will be conducted on 1st shift and then moved to 2nd shift once training is complete.

Additional Duties:

Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with standards.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Completes all required paperwork and updates service records as needed.

Performance Monitoring: Evaluate equipment performance, suggest improvements, and implement enhancements to increase reliability and efficiency.

Technical Support: Provide guidance and training to operations and engineering teams on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

Quality and Compliance: Ensure equipment meets safety, regulatory, and quality standards, often collaborating with QA/QC teams.

Procurement and Vendor Management: Assist in budgeting, sourcing, and managing vendors to maintain equipment.

Perform basic facility maintenance tasks to support a safe and efficient work environment

Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent related work experience.
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience with machinery, equipment maintenance and technical support. Experience working with semiconductor equipment with a strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing operations and cleanroom environment is required. Experience with equipment qualification, installation, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement. Hands-on troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and facilities systems. Experience supporting preventative maintenance and equipment reliability programs. Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams. Ability to work independently and follow safety and quality procedures is required.
  • Travel Requirement: <5% as needed.
