Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Chicago Equine Medical Center in Wauconda, IL, is seeking a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to provide high-quality care and client service. The role supports exams, diagnostics, surgery, and nursing tasks while maintaining records and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Relevant experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care.
• Ability to work with sick animals and hazardous materials.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Strong communication and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting exams, and diagnostic imaging.
• Assist during surgery and nursing care, including feeding and caring for patients.
• Maintain medical records and inventory, and ensure clean, safe environments.
• Communicate with pet owners about patient status as directed by the veterinarian.
• Support hospital operations and participate in educational opportunities.
