Job summary
The Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center (EMC) at Virginia Tech invites applications for a 12-month rotating internship starting January 2027. The intern will rotate through internal medicine, surgery, ECC, sports medicine and anesthesia, plus nursing and imaging support.
A faculty mentor will guide professional development and proficiency across disciplines. The internship is a non-tenure track faculty position with a clinical instructor rank, offering a salary of $52,000 plus a $1,500
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent degree required.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to communicate with clients and team members.
- Visa sponsorship/coverage may be provided (up to $5,000) for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through internal medicine, surgery, emergency & critical care, sports medicine and anesthesia services.
- Participate in hospital rounds and case discussions.
- Assist in nursing/patient care and imaging departments as needed.
- Work after-hours emergency/critical care coverage as scheduled.
