  • Following established feeding, sanitation, and medical procedures.

Are you an experienced horse handler with a deep love for animals? Long Meadow Rescue Ranch is seeking a dedicated and responsible Equine Care Specialist to join our team and contribute to the care and well‑being of our rescued horses and other animals. If you are 18 years or older, have previous horse handling experience, and possess a flexible schedule, including weekends, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.

Responsibilities
  • Giving Food and Water: Ensuring all animals receive their appropriate and timely meals and clean, fresh water.
  • Turning Out Horses into Pastures: Assisting with safely turning out horses into designated pastures and maintaining proper herd management.
  • Cleaning Stalls and Living Quarters: Maintaining clean and hygienic living spaces for the animals, including stalls, barns, and other designated areas.
  • Interacting with Visitors and Volunteers: Engaging with guests and volunteers in a friendly and courteous manner, providing them with information about the ranch and our rescued animals.
  • Operating Tractors and Equipment: Safely operating tractors and other equipment with various attachments to carry out tasks effectively.
  • Providing Proper Care and Attention: Ensuring all animals receive the care they need, following established feeding, sanitation, and medical procedures.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Previous horse handling experience is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of equine behavior and handling is preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude when interacting with visitors, volunteers, and team members.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Starting Pay: $16.00/hour
