Job summary

SystemsAccountants is seeking an experienced EPM Systems Director to lead strategy, execution, and evolution of the organization’s EPM systems landscape in Chicago. You will partner with Finance, IT, and senior stakeholders to define the EPM vision, roadmap, and transformation initiatives.

You will drive platform evaluations, implementations, and optimization while maintaining governance and standards across the EPM environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with EPM, FP&A systems or financial systems.
• Proven experience leading EPM strategy, transformation and roadmaps.
• Hands-on with leading EPM platforms (OneStream, Oracle EPM, Hyperion, SAP BPC, SAC, Tagetik).
• Experience leading EPM implementations and migrations.
• Strong understanding of planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation and financial reporting.
• Ability to work in a lean team and remain hands-on.
• Strong executive presence with senior leadership interaction.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business recommendations.
• Experience managing external consultants and technology vendors.

Responsibilities

• Own and define the organization's EPM strategy, vision, and multi-year roadmap.
• Lead development, optimization, and transformation of the EPM landscape.
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, Accounting, IT and senior leadership to translate requirements into scalable EPM solutions.
• Advise senior leadership on EPM capabilities, investments and transformation opportunities.
• Evaluate, select, implement, and optimize EPM platforms and related technologies.
• Oversee initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring delivery aligned with objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning, forecasting, consolidation, reporting, data management and automation.
• Communicate complex systems concepts in business terms to stakeholders.
• Establish governance, standards, and best practices across the EPM environment.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams on integrations, data flows, security, and architecture.
• Manage relations with implementation partners, consultants, and vendors.
• Remain hands-on to guide troubleshooting, solution design and support.
• Assess emerging EPM technologies to support Finance transformation strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement to keep the EPM environment scalable and efficient.

We are seeking an experienced EPM Systems Director to lead the strategy, execution, and ongoing evolution of the organization's EPM systems landscape. This is a high-visibility leadership position that will partner closely with senior Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to define the EPM vision, establish the technology roadmap, and drive initiatives that improve financial planning, forecasting, reporting, consolidation, and overall Finance transformation!

Responsibilities

• Own and define the organization's EPM strategy, vision, and multi-year technology roadmap
• Lead the ongoing development, optimization, and transformation of the EPM technology landscape
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, Accounting, IT, and senior business leadership to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable EPM solutions
• Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on EPM technology, capabilities, investment priorities, and transformation opportunities
• Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of EPM platforms and related technologies
• Oversee EPM initiatives from strategy and planning through execution, ensuring projects are delivered effectively and aligned with business objectives
• Identify opportunities to improve financial planning, forecasting, consolidation, reporting, data management, and automation processes
• Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate complex systems concepts in a clear, business-focused manner
• Establish governance, standards, and best practices across the EPM environment
• Partner with IT and data teams on integrations, data flows, security, architecture, and overall systems strategy

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience working with EPM, FP&A systems, Corporate Performance Management, or Financial Systems
• Proven experience leading EPM strategy, transformation, and technology roadmaps
• Hands‑on experience with one or more leading EPM platforms, such as OneStream, Oracle EPM (PBCS, FCCS), Oracle Hyperion, SAP BPC, SAP SAC, Tagetik, or similar EPM technologies
• Experience leading EPM implementations, enhancements, migrations, or transformation initiatives
• Strong understanding of Finance processes including planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and financial reporting
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a lean team environment and willingness to remain hands‑on
• Strong executive presence and experience working directly with senior leadership
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, particularly when working with non-technical Finance and business stakeholders
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Experience managing external consultants, implementation partners, and technology vendors
