Job description

EPM Lead Consultant - Workday Adaptive Planning

UK | Hybrid Working | Finance Transformation Consulting

SystemsAccountants is partnering with a growing consulting organisation that is expanding its Workday Adaptive Planning capability across the UK. This is an opportunity for an experienced Adaptive Planning professional to take a lead role in delivering high-impact planning and performance management solutions while helping to shape the growth of a specialist EPM practice.

We're looking for someone who combines deep Adaptive Planning development expertise with strong consulting, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills. This is not a purely managerial role. You'll remain hands-on with solution design, model development and client delivery while acting as a trusted advisor to finance leaders.

The Opportunity

As a key member of the practice, you'll lead organisations through planning transformation initiatives using Workday Adaptive Planning, helping finance teams improve budgeting, forecasting, reporting and decision-making processes.

You'll take ownership of engagements from initial discovery through to deployment and ongoing client success, while contributing to pre-sales activities, practice development and team mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of Workday Adaptive Planning projects for clients across a variety of sectors.
  • Design and build sophisticated Adaptive Planning models covering budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, scenario analysis and long-range planning.
  • Develop scalable and maintainable Adaptive Planning solutions that align with client objectives and best practice modelling standards.
  • Facilitate workshops with finance and operational stakeholders to capture requirements and define solution designs.
  • Configure and optimise Adaptive Planning sheets, dimensions, versions, reports, dashboards and workflows.
  • Guide clients on planning process improvements and how to maximise value from their Adaptive Planning investment.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, risks and deliverables across multiple client engagements.
  • Review and quality assure Adaptive Planning developments produced by other consultants.
  • Support demonstrations, proposals and client meetings by showcasing the capabilities of Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable Adaptive Planning accelerators, templates and demonstration environments.
  • Mentor junior consultants and help build technical capability within the wider team.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong commercial experience delivering and developing solutions within Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Current or previous Workday Adaptive Planning certification is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise building and configuring Adaptive Planning models in complex business environments.
  • Experience leading workshops and translating business requirements into effective Adaptive Planning solutions.
  • Advanced understanding of FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and management reporting.
  • Ability to design robust planning architectures that support changing business requirements.
  • Experience managing full project lifecycles within a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with CFOs, Finance Directors and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a passion for coaching and developing others.
Why Join?
  • Opportunity to become a recognised leader within a growing Workday Adaptive Planning consulting practice.
  • Significant involvement in both delivery and practice-building initiatives.
  • A highly visible role working closely with senior leadership.
  • Exposure to complex planning transformation programmes and enterprise clients.
  • Clear progression opportunities as the practice continues to invest in its Adaptive Planning offering.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where your expertise can directly influence future growth.

SystemsAccountants welcomes applications from experienced Adaptive Planning Consultants, Senior Consultants, Solution Architects, Delivery Leads, Product Owners and Practice Managers seeking the next step in their consulting career.
