Qualifications

• Must have completed an ACGME/AOA approved Neurology residency.
• Must be board eligible/certified in Neurology.
• Must have completed or currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Epilepsy fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with epilepsy and seizure disorders through comprehensive clinical evaluations and specialized testing.
• Interpret EEG recordings and other neurophysiological studies to inform clinical decision-making.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including antiepileptic medication management and dosage optimization.
• Perform detailed patient assessments, including medical history review and neurological examinations.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, and other specialists to determine candidacy for epilepsy surgery.
• Provide patient and family education regarding seizure management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and safety precautions.
• Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and policies.
• Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings for complex cases.
• Stay current with advances in epilepsy treatment and clinical best practices.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcomes analysis within the epilepsy program.
