Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Epilepsy Technologist to join Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Epilepsy. You will perform electrode application, monitor seizures, and support EEG procedures in ICU and OR settings.

The ideal candidate brings a CAAHEP credential, 3+ years of epilepsy experience, and ABRET EEG certification, with on-call EEG responsibilities and night shifts included.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED and graduation from a CAAHEP in Neurodiagnostic Technology, or 18 months related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.
  • Obtains R.EEG T. through ABRET.

Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert and assist other Epilepsy Technologist with complex or unique matters.
  • Performs the application and removal of electrodes.
  • Reviews data for seizure activity and abnormalities. Edits data for physician review.
  • Assists nursing staff with patients during seizures, maintaining patient safety.
  • Performs seizure testing with patients during their events.
  • Performs outpatient procedures such as PET, SPECT, Wada and Ambulatory studies.
  • Performs CEEG procedures in the ICU setting.
  • Performs intracranial monitoring in the EMU and OR.
  • Communicates with coworkers and physicians about changes in patient status.
  • Assists other areas of Diagnostic Neurology.
  • On call responsibilities for EEG.

Pay Range

$25.30 - $37.95

What You'll Need
  • High school diploma/GED and graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) in Neurodiagnostic Technology or 18 months experience in a related field required.
  • 3+ Years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.
  • Obtains R.EEG T., through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).
