Job summary

Minnesota Epilepsy Group, the Midwest’s leading epilepsy program, seeks a Registered Nurse to join our adult and pediatric care teams. You will work under the Nurse Team Leader to deliver safe, ethical patient care and collaborate with physicians to coordinate care.

You will maintain nursing standards, document clinical notes, provide education to patients and families, and participate in research and continuing education.

Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited college or university.
• RN license from the State of Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written).
• Detail oriented and able to work independently.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing standards and practices per Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy.
• Coordinate and manage care for a specific caseload with physicians.
• Provide clinical leadership as educator and liaison among patients and staff.
• Document patient notes, H&P/Discharge summaries, and updates per protocols.
• Provide independent nursing functions including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Maintain licensure and Basic Life Support certification.
• Provide epilepsy education to patients, families, staff and community.
• Identify problems and intervene to ensure clinical standards.
• Participate in relevant research projects and establish patient databases.
• Maintain knowledge through continuing education.
• Develop positive relations with MEG employees and departments.
