Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a health data scientist to lead quantitative analyses of real-world data, including CMS and clinical datasets, to generate actionable insights for federal public health programs. The role emphasizes modeling, data pipelines, and dashboards using R, Python, and SQL, with opportunities to collaborate with epidemiologists and clinicians to inform CDC policy and strategy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Data Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or STEM.
• 2+ years health data science and epidemiology experience with real-world data.
• Proficient in R, Python, SQL; experience with large datasets.
• Experience with SAS; SAS to R conversions a plus.
• Geospatial analysis with QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Experience with statistical modeling, ML, and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Lead quantitative analysis and modeling of real-world health data.
• Estimate chronic disease population-level prevalence and incidence.
• Design and refine ML and statistical models for surveillance.
• Develop data pipelines and dashboards using R, Python, SQL.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists and clinicians to inform policy.
• Prepare scientific reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Ensure data quality and reproducibility across analytic workflows.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
