Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a data science professional in Charlotte, NC to lead quantitative analyses of CMS, claims, and clinical health data for federal public health insights. You will develop models to estimate chronic disease prevalence and incidence using real-world data, and build scalable pipelines and dashboards in R, Python, and SQL.

The role requires a Master’s in a relevant field and 2+ years of health data science experience, with strong SAS, geospatial analysis, and ML skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or STEM.
• 2+ years material experience in health data science and epidemiology with real-world data.
• Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL with large datasets.
• Experience with SAS and biostatistics; SAS to R conversions a plus.
• Geospatial analyses using QGIS/ArcGIS beneficial.
• Experience in statistical modeling, ML, and data visualization.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST.
• Masters degree in Data Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or STEM related field.
• TWO (2) or more years material experience in health data science and epidemiology, including deep experience analyzing real-world data (RWD), including surveillance, commercial claims data, clinical data, or other large health datasets to generate epidemiological population-level estimates.
• Experience in R, Python (including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), and SQL, including large data set manipulation.
• Experience in biostatistics and using statistical platforms – specifically SAS; ideal experience in SAS to R conversions – and conducting epidemiological analyses
• Experience in geospatial analyses using QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.
• Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Experience with generative AI, NLP, or advanced analytics in healthcare settings.
• Strong background in population-level public health, with experience in scientific writing and presentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently to produce high-quality deliverables on-time
• Prior experience conducting real-world evidence (RWE) studies
• Familiarity with public health surveillance systems, local/state/federal health programs, or similar public sector environments.
• Experience in disease surveillance
• Experience with DataBricks, Snowflake, and/or Palantir Foundry.
• Prior publication history in peer-reviewed journals
• Prior work in consulting and working with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholder engagement.
