Job summary

FMOLHS is seeking an Interface Analyst/Developer to design, implement, and support HL7 interfaces across multiple systems. You will analyze requirements, document configurations, and coordinate changes with cross-functional teams.

The role requires knowledge of HL7 standards, experience with interface engines, and the ability to create detailed interface specifications. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of programming experience or 3 years FMOLHS IS system exp.; Bachelor's Degree in IT substitutes for 2 years of programming experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HL7 standards and experience with interface engines.

Responsibilities

• Designs efficient high quality interface programs, creates efficient and logical program code, and writes clear and concise system descriptions that meet project requirements.
• Investigates interface-related business and system requirements and documents configuration/build changes needed.
• Evaluates business requirements and processes to provide possible solutions and accurate estimates for development efforts.
• Communicates with other team members to ensure that application functionality and workflow requirements are addressed.
• Serves as the point person for assigned interfaces, coordinating analysis calls and maintaining requirements documentation.
• Coordinates or assists in testing/validation of the interface.
• Troubleshoots production or testing interface issues; run error code frequency reports and propose/implement solutions.
• Develops or documents interface specifications.
• Creates HL7 mapping documents by collecting Epic system values and values from other systems.
• Performs configuration/build changes for interfaces.

The Interface Analyst/Developer is responsible for analysis, technical design and issue triage for the development, implementation and support of interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Designs efficient high quality interface programs, creates efficient and logical program code, and writes clear and concise system descriptions that meet project requirements.
• Performs investigation of interface-related business and system requirements identified for new or modification requests. Determine impact to interfaces, document configuration and build changes needed
• Evaluates business requirements and processes to provide possible solutions and accurate estimates for development efforts.
• Communicates with the other team members to ensure that application functionality and workflow requirements and needs are being addressed and met.
• Serves as the point person for assigned interfaces, which may include coordinating analysis calls, maintaining business requirements documentation, elevate issues encountered and performing configuration and build changes to interface code.
• Coordinates or assists in all testing/validation of the interface
• Troubleshoots production or testing/validation interface issues or related applications. Run error code frequency reports for interfaces, investigate and analyze the errors, cause of failure and propose/implement solutions
• Develops or documents interface specifications.
• Creates mapping documents for HL7 fields and sub-fields by collecting Epic system values and values for the other systems to serve as a central reference for doing mapping among the various systems.
• Performs configuration / build changes
