Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks an experienced Epic Application Manager for our Patient Access & Revenue Cycle Department to lead Epic teams through implementation, upgrades and ongoing support. The role partners with clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure compliant, efficient patient access and revenue cycle workflows.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record in Epic projects, holds relevant certifications, and brings 6+ years in clinical IT with 3+ years in management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, healthcare administration, clinical informatics, business administration, computer science, nursing, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a clinical area and information technology including EHR implementation, application support, clinical informatics, healthcare operations, or related healthcare technology experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of management experience preferred; experience leading application teams, technical staff, or healthcare IT initiatives is preferred.
  • Additional Epic certifications or proficiencies preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience leading Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and application governance is preferred.
  • Experience supporting integrated workflows across multiple Epic applications and IT service management practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads assigned Epic application teams through implementation, optimization, testing, workflows, go-live planning, stabilization, upgrades and ongoing support.
  • Directly supervises Epic application analysts, including assignments, performance management, development, resource allocation, and hiring support.
  • Coordinates application activities with project directors, managers, operational leaders, technical teams, vendors, training, testing and reporting for integrated delivery.
  • Oversees application support, upgrades and optimization including issue management, risk identification, escalation and change control.
  • Ensures build, workflow design, testing, validation, readiness, cutover, and production support meet Epic standards.
  • Partners with leaders, clinicians, revenue cycle leaders, physician champions and Epic reps to support operational, regulatory and patient care objectives.
  • Develops team capabilities through mentoring, certification planning, knowledge transfer and process improvement.
  • Maintains expertise in Epic functionality, healthcare technology trends and interoperability.

Job description

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Epic Application Manager for our Patient Access & Revenue Cycle Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an Epic Application Manager-Patient Access & Revenue Cycle, you will:
  • Leads assigned Epic application teams through implementation, optimization, testing, integrated workflows, go-live planning, stabilization, upgrades and ongoing support while ensuring project scope, quality, and timelines are achieved.
  • Directly supervises Epic application analysts, including work assignments, performance management, professional development, resource allocation, workload balancing, coaching, and hiring support.
  • Coordinates application activities with the Project Director, project managers, operational leaders, technical teams, vendors, training, testing, reporting, and other application teams to ensure integrated delivery across the enterprise.
  • Oversees application support, upgrades and optimization, including issue management, risk identification, escalation, workflow decisions, change control, integrated planning, and leadership status reporting.
  • Ensures application build, workflow design, testing, validation, integrated readiness, cutover preparation, and production support activities meet organizational standards and Epic implementation practices.
  • Partners with operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, revenue cycle leaders, physician champions, subject matter experts, and Epic representatives to ensure application solutions support operational, regulatory, and patient care objectives.
  • Develops team capabilities through mentoring, performance feedback, certification planning, knowledge transfer, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains expertise in Epic application functionality, healthcare technology trends, interoperability concepts, implementation methods, and organizational priorities.
Revenue Cycle Portfolio Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead analysts and supporting resources responsible for Epic patient access and revenue cycle applications, including Cadence, Prelude, Referrals, Real-Time Eligibility, Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Claims and Remittance, Charge Router, Revenue Guardian, contract management, and related capabilities. Establish team processes, service ownership, resource plans, performance measures, documentation standards, development priorities, coaching, performance management, and succession plans.
Revenue Cycle Delivery and Lifecycle Management:
  • Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for new and changed RCM functionality, including intake, scope, workflow and requirements analysis, design, build oversight, integrated testing, validation, cutover, go-live, stabilization, and transition to support. Maintain integrated schedules, dependencies, quality gates, budgets, status reporting, and accountable owners across concurrent workstreams.
Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, healthcare administration, clinical informatics, business administration, computer science, nursing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $116,227.90 - $174,341.85 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as: United States of America (Exempt)
