Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an Associate Application Analyst to optimize workflow processes by implementing and supporting applications, with a path to Epic certification.

This role focuses on aligning clinical and business workflows with system capabilities to support patient care and hospital operations. You will collaborate with end users, coordinate testing, and contribute to ongoing maintenance and enhancements across departments, while upholding

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Information Technology or Healthcare field with related training or a minimum of five years of healthcare education or experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical, operational, or business applications via patient care or healthcare operations.
  • Ability to complete Epic certification within six months.
  • Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft applications.
  • Strong written and oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent project management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the IM Manager, or Senior Analyst.
  • Provides application implementation, support, technical guidance, and serves as a resolution point for issues regarding assigned applications.
  • Collaborate with end-users to understand workflows and develop system support.
  • Support existing functionality with further expansion to additional clinical, procedural and business areas.
  • Coordinate all testing phases of associated applications during implementations and upgrades.
  • Develop strong relationships with end user communities, internal and external partners.
  • Perform activities of assigned projects or phases, adhere to work plans and timelines, identify resources and provide status reports.
  • Develop and monitor testing scenarios and documentation on testing plans.
  • Participate in completion of user documentation and training procedures.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations for transactions, security and confidentiality.
  • Perform duties with service principles focused on innovation, service excellence and teamwork.

Job Description

The Associate Application Analyst assists the hospital in optimizing workflow processes through implementing and supporting applications that are tailored to meet the hospital’s needs. The Associate Analyst will obtain Epic certification and learn the Epic system’s capabilities and functional use. The Associate Analyst will apply their knowledge of patient care and/or business workflows to assist in the continued implementation of systems that meet process needs. The Associate Analyst will support the information management needs of various client departments and workflows across the organization through project coordination, application(s) implementation, upgrades, ongoing maintenance and enhancements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Works under the direction of the IM Manager, or Senior Analyst,
  • Provides application implementation, support, technical guidance, and serves as a resolution point for issues regarding assigned applications. Works collaboratively with end-users to understand workflows and develop system support.
  • Support existing functionality with further expansion to additional clinical, procedural and business areas.
  • Research and benchmark to continually refine and develop, configure and modify moderately complex information systems to meet user’s needs. Participates in system optimization.
  • Coordinate all testing phases of associated applications during implementations and upgrades.
  • Develop strong relationships with end user communities, internal and external partners.
  • Perform activities of assigned projects or particular phases of a given project. Adhere to detailed work plans and timelines. Identify appropriate resources needed to complete assigned tasks and provide timely status reports.
  • Develop and monitor testing scenarios and methodologies to demonstrate system effectiveness. Prepare and maintain documentation on testing plans.
  • Participate in completion of user documentation and training procedures.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations for transactions, security and confidentiality.
  • Perform job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Associate Degree in Information Technology or Healthcare field with related training or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant Health Care education or experience requirement.
  • Experience in a healthcare related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable clinical, operational, or business applications obtained through direct patient care, ancillary support, healthcare operations, or previous job responsibilities.
  • Must have the ability to complete Epic certification within six (6) months of employment.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Windows OS and applications.
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate facts and ideas clearly and concisely. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills. Ability to prepare documentation to support established objectives consistent with generally recognized standards.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to employee/patient and hospital
Education

Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology (Required)

Pay Range

$76,960.00-$125,840.00 Salary

The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
