Job summary

Jacobs in the Life Sciences North America group seeks a seasoned Project Director to lead EPCM projects in the Northeast. You will guide planning, engineering, procurement, construction management and design-build delivery for high-value life science facilities, ensuring execution excellence.

The role includes mentoring PMs, managing budgets and schedules, and maintaining strong client relationships while driving safety and quality across multi-office teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of EPCM project management experience in industrial facilities.
  • 5+ years in Life Science industry recommended.
  • Mentor for PMs and Project Engineers.
  • Strong safety culture and multi-office project experience.
  • Cost management, forecasting, earned value, and budgets.
  • Experience in proposals, design services estimation, and client needs analysis.
  • Program Management experience including Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Commissioning (EPCM).
  • CCM/PE/PMP/Architect license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, engineering, procurement, construction management and design-build delivery.
  • Develop and deliver project scopes, budgets, reports, contracts and schedules.
  • Provide day-to-day management of teams, recruitment and development.

Asan EPCMProject Director in our Northeast region with our Life Sciences North America, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, procurement, construction management, and design-build project delivery.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in inEngineering, Construction Management, or related discipline; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
  • At least 15 years of experience in managing EPCM projects related to industrial facilities, with a minimum of 5 years specific to the Life Science Industry highly recommended
  • Act as a mentor for other PMs and Project Engineers
  • Strong safety culture both from design safety, and when working in the office or at project site locations
  • Experience in the execution of multi-office projects (possibly international)
  • General engineering knowledge that are key to the successful implementation of Life Science projects including infrastructure, process, utilities, and support facilities
  • Strong experience in design project cost management, including forecasting, earned value and meeting design budgets
  • Experience in developing proposals, estimating design services hours, and working with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Program Management experience should include Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Commissioning (EPCM) elements.
  • Preferred but not mandatory - Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Architect license/certification
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Strong working knowledge in design and construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, environmental and LEED applications, team building and client relationship building
  • At least 5 years of experience with design of Life Science facilities in excess of $500 million construction value
  • Ability to travel to project locations for short term visits to client sites
  • Strong existing relationships with Life Science clients
  • Some prior field experience would be very helpful

The base salary range for this position is $200,700.00 to $300,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
