Job summary

Marten Transport, Ltd. seeks an on-site Diesel Equipment Technician to perform major and minor repairs on the Reefer fleet in a timely and efficient manner, in alignment with company policies. You must diagnose, repair, and rebuild components to keep equipment operating reliably.

Expect to complete preventative maintenance, document repairs, attend training, and handle parts. Strong reading, writing, and basic computer skills are required, with the ability to work varied shifts and climates.

Qualifications

• EPA certification required.
• Mechanical aptitude and skills required.
• Ability to read and write English; some computer skills.
• Ability to diagnose and solve problems efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proficiency in diagnosing and repairing all equipment.
• Maintain proficiency in rebuilding components on equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and ensure timely repairs.
• Complete repair orders with labor and parts charged to the correct unit.
• Attend training classes and demonstrate learned skills.
• Return unused parts to the parts room.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
