Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking an Electrophysiology EP Lab Technologist Lead to join our cardiovascular team. Under supervision of the Director/Manager, you will prepare patients and assist with electrophysiology procedures, collaborating with nurses and physicians to deliver safe, high-quality care in a busy EP lab.

The role requires RT or RCIS certification, an associate degree, and 3–7 years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered Radiology Technician (RT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Scrub assistant to electrophysiologist.
  • Digital x-ray image acquisition and post-processing.
  • Monitor patient and document procedures.
  • Pre- and post-procedural patient care.
  • Collaborate with licensed nurse to prepare, monitor, and recover patients.
  • Charge for procedures and supplies after completion.
  • Collect procedural data for reports and lectures.
  • Participate in department process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Electrophysiology Technician under the supervision of the Director/Manager/Assigned Designee provides technical assistance and works collaboratively with the nurse and physician or designee to prepare the patient and perform electrophysiology procedures (ablations and implants).

  • Scrub assistant to electrophysiologist
  • Digital x ray Image acquisition and post processing
  • Patient monitoring and procedure documentation
  • Pre & post procedural care
  • In collaboration with the licensed nurse prepares patients for procedure, monitors patient condition throughout procedure, and recovers patients following procedure
  • Charges for procedures and supply items upon completion of procedure
  • Collects procedural data for reports, lectures, etc.
  • Actively participates in department process improvement efforts.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Registered Radiology Technician (RT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Associate Degree
