Position Description: The Adjunct Instructor will report to the Associate Coordinator of Instructional Services and will be responsible for conducting classes in theory and practice for shielding metal arc, pipe, aluminum, stainless steel, flux cored, MIG, TIG, and plasma arc cutting for AWS and NYS DOT certification.
Note: Classes will be conducted in the evenings.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must possess an Associate's Degree or appropriate educational credits, certifications, or experience to enable satisfactory performance and instruction in the designated area of welding. Candidates should have six years of professional experience in MIG, TIG, and ARC Welding; at least two years of teaching experience and/or four years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with educationally and economically disadvantaged adult populations; knowledge of internet navigation, email, and word processing skills; Certified OSHA trainer in 10-hour Construction training; and AWS Certified Welding Inspector. The hourly rate for this position is $44.00.
