Job summary

Little Rapids Corporation in Wisconsin seeks an Environmental & Utilities Manager to oversee the mill's utility infrastructure, including boiler house and water treatment, ensuring safe, compliant operations and alignment with environmental standards.

You will lead wastewater treatment, boiler operations, and energy/water conservation initiatives, partner with regulators, and manage budgets, capex, and a team of environmental/utility professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
• 3-5 years utilities area management experience in an industrial setting (Pulp & Paper preferred).
• Wastewater Operator certification or ability to obtain.
• Familiarity with High pressure boiler operator licensing requirements preferred
• Experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies: EPA, DNR, DHS, DATCP, and others.
• Knowledge of regulatory programs: CAA, CWA, RCRA and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant including land spreading program and wastewater laboratory.
• Lead operation and maintenance of boiler operations and utility systems.
• Ensure all environmental compliance and permitting requirements are met for the facility.
• Primary link for environmental agencies, regulators, and community on incidents or requests.
• New chemical reviews for permitting and compliance requirements.
• Develop and manage the department’s operational budget and capital projects; optimize performance.
