Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an Environmental Test Technician to execute climactic and environmental tests across its product line. You will work hands-on with test equipment, troubleshoot diverse systems, and ensure high uptime of measurement hardware.

The role emphasizes running test controllers, data acquisition, and lab operations, with shifts on 2nd or 3rd and travel to sites as needed. A strong bias for safety and reliability is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional engineering technician experience.
• Familiarity with Jira or other agile development software.
• Experience with running environmental test equipment.
• Eligible to obtain / maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Familiarity with environmental test standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160).

Responsibilities

• Execute a variety of environmental tests including thermal, dynamic, corrosion, and ingress tests.
• Program test controllers such as WATLOW F4s, and F4Ts.
• Execute dynamic tests using electrodynamic shaker table control software.
• Set up data acquisition systems for environmental tests.
• Maintain lab spaces to a high level of organization and professionalism.
• Promote lab safety training and processes, fostering a safety-first culture.
• Promote proper maintenance of capital equipment including environmental chambers and shakers.
• Update environmental testing training materials and technical documentation.
• Travel to test sites and remote labs as needed.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Enterprise Test Capabilities (ETC) develops, operates, and scales the shared physical test infrastructure, technical expertise, and execution systems required to validate Anduril’s products across the company. The team provides specialized testing that is capital-intensive, technically complex, safety-critical, or broadly reusable across multiple programs, spanning environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, HALT, TVAC), battery testing (cell/module/pack characterization, abuse testing, BMS validation), propulsion testing (engine test cells, thrust/torque measurement, fuel/feed systems), aerodynamic testing (wind tunnel operations, flow visualization, force/moment measurement), and structural testing. We partner with product test teams from early development through qualification and sustainment to identify technical risk, select appropriate test methods, execute testing safely, and generate trusted engineering evidence. The test operations team within ETC owns the lab facilities, equipment fleet, calibration program, and operational support team that keeps this diverse test enterprise running.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking an Environmental Test Technician to join our rapidly growing environmental test team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide variety of climactic and environmental tests on the full spectrum of products developed at Anduril.The ideal candidate brings hands‑on test and measurement equipment experience, strong troubleshooting instincts across multiple equipment types, and takes genuine pride in equipment performance and uptime.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Execute a variety of environmental tests including, but not limited to, thermal, dynamic, corrosion, and ingress tests.
• Program test controllers such as WATLOW F4s, and F4Ts.
• Execute dynamic tests using electrodynamic shaker table control software.
• Set up data acquisition systems for environmental tests
• Maintain lab spaces to a high level of organization and professionalism.
• Promote lab safety training and processes, fostering an environment and culture to promote safety as the number one priority
• Promote proper maintenance of capital equipment including environmental chambers, electrodynamic shakers, and data acquisition equipment.
• Advance environmental testing training materials and keep technical documentation updated.
• Travel to test sites and remote labs as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of professional experience in a engineering technician capacity or similar
• Familiarity with Jira or other agile development software
• Experience with running environmental test equipment
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding, flexible team environment
• Eligible to obtain / maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
• Familiarity with environmental test standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160)

SHIFTS

• Ability to work 2nd shift OR 3rd shift
  • 2nd shift 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • 3rd shift 10 PM - 6:30 AM

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with NI Data acquisition system setup and collection, as well as running LabVIEW and Flexlogger software.
• Familiarity with VR software including VibrationVIEW and ObserVIEW for executing and processing dynamic tests.
• Demonstrated sense of drive and ability to work in cross-functional teams effectively

US Salary Range

$37—$49 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
