Job summary

Clean Earth in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Environmental Technician II to perform routine and heavy labor tasks to properly treat, store, pack, move and dispose of hazardous waste in line with Veolia integration policies.

The role requires 1+ years of related work experience, ability to operate forklift and pallet jack, and strict adherence to PPE and safety procedures. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• 1+ years related work experience.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to wear PPE including eye protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage / loading and off-loading / production
• Collect samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis
• Complete required paperwork in accordance with our practices and procedures
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
• Separate and pack materials for transport and disposal

In this role, the Environmental Technician II will perform routine and frequent manual and heavy labor tasks to properly treat, store, pack, move and/or dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and cost-effective practices along with Clean Earth policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Supervise and operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage / loading and off-loading / production
• Collecting samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis
• Complete required paperwork in accordance with our practices and procedures
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
• Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
• Separate and pack materials for transport and disposal

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• 1+ years related work experience
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack
• Have the ability to read, write and speak in English
• Ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste
