Job summary

Port Townsend Paper Company seeks an Environmental Technician I for our on-site environmental team in Port Townsend, WA. The role reports to the Environmental Manager and provides hands‑on support for environmental compliance programs.

Responsibilities include inspections, sampling, data analysis, and reporting to ensure permit requirements are met. Opportunity to grow to Technician II or III with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; coursework or training in environmental science, chemistry, or laboratory methods preferred.
• Entry‑level or limited experience in environmental compliance, laboratory work, or industrial operations.
• At least one year of experience working in a heavy industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance inspections; document findings and ensure proper documentation.
• Perform NPDES/BMP inspections and field observations per permits and BMP Plan.
• Support SPCC inspections and track deficiencies and corrective actions.
