Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an Environmental Technician I to join its Environmental Services team. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff, supporting infection prevention and high satisfaction through thorough cleaning and adherence to safety protocols.

The role offers on-the-job training, a supportive team culture, and opportunities to contribute directly to patient care and safety in a diverse workplace.

Qualifications

  • No minimum education requirement.
  • Experience in environmental services, hospitality, housekeeping, healthcare support services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, public areas, and other assigned spaces.
  • Support patient throughput by completing timely room turnovers for admissions and discharges.
  • Remove trash, soiled linen, and bio-medical waste.
  • Replenish supplies and change curtains as needed.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and UV disinfection machines.
  • Follow infection prevention, PPE, and safety protocols.
  • Utilize department technology systems, including Bed Management systems.
  • Report maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and team members.
  • Support departmental quality improvement initiatives.

As an Environmental Technician I, you will play a critical role in infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout our healthcare facilities.
