Job summary

PIH Health is hiring an Environmental Services Technician in Downey, CA. The role focuses on maintaining high cleanliness standards across patient areas, isolation rooms, and public spaces within the hospital campus.

You will perform floor care, damp wiping, and equipment cleaning while adhering to procedures and safety guidelines. This position requires English fluency and physical ability to stand, bend, and lift. The shift is Days and is full-time.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks including floor care, dust mopping, sweeping outside areas, scrubbing, stripping, buffing, shampooing and spill removal.
• Damp wash counters, telephones, desks, ledges, etc.
• Clean occupied patient areas and isolation rooms as prescribed in procedures.
• Change cubical curtains and drapes; maintain environmental tools and equipment.

Job description

The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of cleaning tasks under general direction. In order to achieve the highest cleaning standards possible the Environmental Services Technician performs floor care, dust mopping sweeping outside areas, scrubbing, stripping, and buffing, shampooing and spill removal. Damp washing of counters, telephones, desks, ledges, etc. Washing light fixtures, ceiling, and walls involves use of ladders or step stools. Trash and soiled linen removal. Isolation room cleaning as prescribed in written procedures. Changing of cubical curtains and drapes. Cleaning and maintaining of environmental tools and equipment. Cleaning of occupied patient areas and dismissals. Cleaning other related duties as assigned to ensure the highest quality of service throughout the facility.
