Job summary

Strata-G, LLC is seeking experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialists in Oak Ridge, TN, to oversee eco-efficiency programs and decarbonization strategies. You will ensure compliance with federal sustainability plans and collaborate on renewable energy projects to support the national clean energy mandates.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in managing sustainability programs, aligned with the federal government’s targets for environmental resilience. This full-time position is onsite only and requires the ability to obtain necessary security clearances.

Strata-G is seeking experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialists with the following:

Job Overview

We are seeking mission-driven Environmental Sustainability Specialists to oversee and advance eco-efficiency programs. You will execute site-specific decarbonization strategies, ensure strict federal compliance, and optimize resource resilience. Your work will directly support national clean energy mandates and the transition to net-zero federal operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Federal Compliance : Align site operations with DOE Orders, Federal Sustainability Plans, and executive orders on climate resilience.
• Decarbonization Tracking : Monitor and report greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories utilizing federal carbon accounting frameworks.
• Energy Resilience : Collaborate with facility engineers on microgrid, renewable energy, and smart-meter implementation projects.
• Waste & Materials : Manage compliance for hazardous and non-hazardous waste diversion, focusing on federal circular economy targets.
• Water Stewardship : Design and execute water-use efficiency programs for complex facility infrastructure and cooling systems.
• Reporting Coordination : Aggregate facility utility and emission data to complete mandatory annual Federal Automotive Statistical Tool (FAST) and sustainability dashboards.

Required Qualifications

• Education : Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a closely related technical field.
• Experience : 3-5+ years managing sustainability or environmental compliance programs, preferably within federal or highly regulated sectors.
• Security Clearance : Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE 'L' or 'Q' security clearance as required by the facility.
• Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency in Greenhouse Gas Protocol guidelines and federal data management systems.

Preferred Skills & Credentials

• Certifications : Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP, or Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) training.
• Agency Knowledge : Direct familiarity with DOE Order 436.1 (Departmental Sustainability) and related federal site handbooks.
