Environmental & Water Treatment Engineer

First Point Group is urgently looking for a Senior Environmental & Water Treatment Engineer to lead environmental compliance and industrial water-treatment design for Manufacturing & Technology projects. This role owns engineering deliverables from basis of design through procurement, construction support, commissioning, and startup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review environmental basis documents, permit-support packages, compliance matrices, discharge limits, wastewater criteria, and environmental design inputs.
- Lead industrial water and wastewater treatment design, including water balances, PFDs/P&IDs, process design criteria, equipment specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
- Define source-water quality requirements, pretreatment systems, clarification, multimedia filtration, activated carbon, softening, ion exchange, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, demineralization, and wastewater treatment solutions.
- Evaluate RO feedwater quality, scaling/fouling risk, recovery targets, membrane protection, chemical dosing, CIP requirements, concentrate/reject-stream routing, and reuse options.
- Coordinate design interfaces with process, mechanical, civil, electrical, I&C, procurement, suppliers, construction, commissioning, and client teams.
- Review vendor submittals, calculations, equipment selection, hydraulic profiles, control philosophies, utility requirements, and package interfaces.
- Resolve environmental and water-treatment risks involving discharge compliance, waste classification, treatment performance, operability, constructability, and startup readiness.
- Support HAZOPs, design reviews, vendor meetings, field troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience with a degree, or 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
- 5+ years of environmental, industrial water-treatment, wastewater-treatment, RO, or process-water engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of permitting support, discharge criteria, wastewater interfaces, environmental compliance documentation, and applicable codes and client standards.
- Hands-on experience developing or reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, water balances, calculations, specifications, datasheets, requisitions, bid tabs, and vendor documents.
- Familiarity with PLC/DCS control interfaces, instrumentation, flow measurement, pH/ORP monitoring, conductivity, turbidity, chemical feed systems, and treatment-system automation.
- PE license or ability to obtain registration preferred.
