DNREC seeks a supervisor for the Wetland Monitoring and Assessment Program within the Division of Watershed Stewardship, leading development of a wetland online screening tool and contractor training for field assessments.

You will provide technical guidance on environmental compliance, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and ensure state projects meet environmental and cultural resource laws, while conducting research and reporting findings.

Formación

• Master's or Bachelor's degree with demonstrated contribution in environmental planning, biology, or related field.
• At least six years in environmental specialist work including analysis and assessment of environmental/cultural impacts.
• Three years as SME in environmental assessments and data management.
• Two years designing, planning, and overseeing implementation of environmental programs or projects.
• Two years supervising staff including planning, assigning, and evaluating work.
• Two years developing environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the Wetland Monitoring and Assessment Program and maintenance of a wetland online screening tool.
• Provide technical guidance on environmental compliance and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Ensure state projects meet applicable environmental and cultural resource laws.
• Conduct research, data analysis, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve resource compliance issues.

Educación

Master's degree in Environmental Planning

The supervisor provides technical guidance on environmental compliance, coordinates with regulatory agencies, and ensures state projects meet all applicable environmental and cultural resource laws. The role involves research, data analysis, technical report preparation, and stakeholder coordination to resolve resource compliance issues.

Key qualifications:

• Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field; or Bachelor's degree with recognized contribution to the field
• Six years' experience in environmental specialist work including analysis and assessment of environmental/cultural impacts
• Three years' experience as subject matter expert in environmental assessments and data management
• Two years' experience designing, planning, and overseeing implementation of environmental programs or projects
• Two years' experience in staff supervision including planning, assigning, and evaluating work of others
• Two years' experience developing environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures
