About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an Environmental Specialist II that supports environmental compliance, permitting, and environmental management activities across power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This position works closely with project management, engineering, construction, and external regulatory agencies to ensure projects comply with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permit requirements, and company standards.

The Environmental Specialist II assists with environmental planning, inspections, reporting, documentation, and implementation of environmental management practices throughout project execution. The ideal candidate has practical experience with environmental compliance in construction, industrial, energy, or power generation environments and can identify potential environmental risks while supporting safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery.

What You'll Do

Environmental Compliance and Permitting

  • Support environmental compliance activities for power generation EPC projects, including natural gas facilities, renewable energy installations, and battery energy storage systems.
  • Assist with obtaining, maintaining, and tracking environmental permits, approvals, and regulatory authorizations.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including requirements related to air quality, water quality, stormwater, waste management, and erosion and sediment control.
  • Interpret permit conditions and environmental requirements and communicate applicable obligations to project teams.
  • Assist with environmental assessments, compliance reviews, and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain environmental compliance calendars, permit registers, and required documentation.

Field Inspections and Construction Support

  • Conduct or support routine environmental inspections at project sites to verify compliance with permits, environmental plans, and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor construction activities for potential environmental impacts, including stormwater discharges, erosion, sedimentation, spills, and improper waste handling.
  • Document inspection findings, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions with project personnel.
  • Support implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, and other applicable environmental management plans.
  • Assist project teams in implementing best management practices to minimize environmental impacts during construction and site operations.
  • Support environmental incident investigations and help develop corrective and preventive measures.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare environmental inspection reports, compliance records, monitoring reports, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain organized environmental records to support internal reviews, regulatory inspections, and project audits.
  • Track environmental commitments, permit conditions, corrective actions, and compliance deadlines.
  • Assist with compiling environmental data and preparing reports for project management and regulatory agencies.
  • Identify recurring compliance issues and recommend improvements to environmental procedures and practices.

Project Coordination and Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, project controls, safety, and project management teams to integrate environmental requirements into project planning and execution.
  • Coordinate with environmental consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Provide guidance to project personnel regarding environmental requirements, site-specific procedures, and regulatory expectations.
  • Support environmental training, awareness initiatives, and implementation of company environmental standards.
  • Assist with evaluating environmental risks during project development, mobilization, construction, and closeout.
  • Identify opportunities to improve environmental compliance processes, reporting accuracy, and project execution.
