Job summary

Tactica Solutions is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance and conservation programs at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. This entry‑level role helps maintain accurate program information and supports safe, compliant facility operations.

Responsibilities include managing compliance programs, preparing permit applications, coordinating inspections, and supporting data collection and reporting to ensure environmental standards are met for the base infrastructure

Qualifications

• Background investigation Tier 1 clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate environmental compliance and conservation programs, identifying mitigation needs and providing support to stakeholders.
• Transfer environmental documentation between authorized systems of record; maintain repositories; upload records to centralized databases per records-management requirements.
• Develop and review environmental project plans, specifications, cost estimates, studies, mitigation actions, and abatement projects; coordinate with engineering personnel to integrate environmental requirements into planning and design.
• Prepare permit applications and regulatory correspondence; coordinate inspections; respond to compliance findings; and track corrective actions through closure.
• Manage internal environmental inspections by developing criteria, checklists, and schedules; document findings; complete environmental sampling and fieldwork.
• Review hazardous-material surveys and evaluate abatement and remediation proposals for technical sufficiency; provide information to acquisition personnel through approved channels.
• Conduct data collection and analysis; prepare technical reports and presentations; organize program files; support stakeholder engagement and risk communications.

Location: Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate environmental compliance and conservation programs, identify mitigation and abatement needs, and provide support to authorized organizational stakeholders.
• Transfer environmental documentation between authorized systems of record; maintain approved document repositories; and upload required records to designated centralized databases in accordance with records-management and access-control requirements.
• Develop and review environmental project plans, specifications, cost estimates, studies, mitigation actions, and abatement projects; coordinate with authorized engineering personnel to integrate environmental requirements into facility and infrastructure planning and design.
• Prepare permit applications and regulatory correspondence; coordinate authorized inspections and official visits; respond to compliance findings; and track corrective actions through closure using approved procedures.
• Manage internal environmental inspections by developing criteria, checklists, and schedules; coordinating with designated program personnel; documenting findings; and completing authorized environmental sampling, observations, and compliance fieldwork.
• Review hazardous-material surveys and evaluate abatement, remediation, and environmental-service proposals for technical sufficiency; provide authorized environmental-condition information to acquisition personnel through approved channels.
• Conduct recurring data collection and analysis; prepare technical reports, presentations, and approved visual products; organize program files; and support authorized stakeholder engagement and risk communications.

Education / Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related natural science field from an institution accredited in the United States.

Required Experience

1 year of experience

Clearance

• Satisfactory outcome of a background investigation for Tier 1 access is required.

Experience With Military Facility/Infrastructure Is Preferred

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
