Job summary

CDMS is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Consultant to join our Pleasanton, CA office with 2–10 years of industry experience. You will manage EHS projects, mentor junior specialists, and deliver compliant solutions across diverse industries.

Hybrid work available after onboarding. Strong project management, client service, and communication skills required, plus ability to train groups of 10–40 people and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• 2–10 years of experience in environmental consulting or related industry
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
• Ability to work independently and lead a project team
• Strong attention to detail and project management skills
• Personable demeanor and professional communication (verbal & written)
• Comfortable conducting trainings to groups of 10–40 people

Responsibilities

• Manage EHS projects for clients with strong service orientation and on-time delivery
• Prepare reports aligned with EPA, DTSC, CUPAs, Fire departments, Water boards and other agencies
• Assist with permitting requirements and documentation (air quality, wastewater, Tiered Permitting, storm water)
• Conduct trainings for client employees
• Provide ongoing compliance support to clients
• Support various other activities to aid clients' compliance efforts

The Role

We're seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Consultant with 2-10 years of industry experience to join our growing team in our Pleasanton, CA office. This role balances experience implementing EHS programs across a wide variety of industries while developing project management expertise. You'll manage EHS consulting projects, solve complex EHS compliance issues and serve as a mentor to junior specialists.

What You'll Do

• Manage EHS projects for our clients providing exceptional client service while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare reports for our clients to follow guidance and regulations designed by EPA, DTSC, local CUPAs, Fire departments, Water boards and other federal, state and local government agencies
• Assist with permitting requirements and documentation (air quality, wastewater, Tiered Permitting, storm water, etc.)
• Conducting training for employees of client companies
• Providing ongoing compliance support to clients
• Providing various other support activities to clients to assist with their compliance efforts

What You Bring

• 2-10 years of experience in environmental consulting or related industry
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (Master's degree a plus)
• The ability to work independently and lead a project team
• A high attention to detail and strong project management skills
• A personable demeanor and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Comfortable conducting trainings to groups of 10-40 people (10% of the job)
• Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel
