Job summary

CDMS in Long Beach is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (2–6 years) to manage EH&S consulting projects and ensure regulatory compliance across California industries.

You will develop safety programs, perform regulatory reporting, conduct trainings, and support permitting with agencies such as EPA and DTSC. Hybrid work available after onboarding with a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 2–6 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; professional demeanor.
  • Comfortable delivering group trainings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (2–6 years) to join our Long Beach office. This role involves managing EH&S consulting projects and solving compliance challenges. You’ll work across various industries, applying your technical expertise and growing your project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage EH&S projects, ensuring outstanding client service and adherence to project schedules and budgets
  • Develop health and safety programs
  • Prepare reports based on EPA, DTSC, local CUPAs, fire departments, water boards, and other regulatory agencies’ guidelines
  • Assist clients with permitting requirements and documentation (e.g., air quality, wastewater, stormwater)
  • Conduct employee training sessions (groups of 10–40, approximately 10% of the role)
  • Perform monitoring activities (air, soil sampling, etc.) and compliance audits
  • Provide ongoing compliance support and other assistance to clients

  • 2–6 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field
