Job summary

Gowan Company is seeking an Environmental Specialist to manage environmental compliance programs, regulatory reporting, and sustainability initiatives, serving as the primary liaison with environmental agencies. This role ensures adherence to environmental regulations while promoting sustainable practices.

The position reports to Site Manager and requires strong knowledge of environmental regulations, hazardous materials handling, and project management within an office and industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or STEM field required.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance.
• Experience with hazardous materials/waste procedures.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with environmental management systems.
• Project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• FIFRA Production Reporting
• Air Permit Emissions and Compliance
• Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting
• Monthly opacity monitoring using DOCS II
• Coordinate with consultants on environmental permitting
• Serve as main contact for environmental agencies
• Lead sustainability initiatives
• Oversee RO system regulatory compliance
• Assist with waste management operations
