UMIAQ Environmental is seeking an Environmental Scientist in Alaska to perform Phase I–III Environmental Site Assessments, plan investigations, oversee field crews, and prepare technical reports for clients. The role requires data evaluation, scope development, and budget/proposal preparation for multidisciplinary projects.

Travel to project sites for fieldwork and interaction with clients, vendors, and staff is required, with involvement in business development and marketing activities,

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrology, Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related natural science.
• 1–3 years of related experience.
• Meets Alaska DEC Qualified Environmental Professional criteria per 18 AAC 75.333.
• Knowledge of Alaska environmental regulations and federal regs (RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA).
• Experience sampling soil, groundwater and other media at contaminated sites.
• Experience with hazardous waste materials management and remediation technologies.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
• Advanced computer skills including Access, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, gINT and MS Project.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and conduct environmental consulting and engineering activities, including data assessment, reporting, and overseeing field personnel.
• Perform Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments.
• Define scopes of service and prepare budgets and proposals.
• Review, evaluate, and interpret environmental data; prepare concise reports.
• Collect environmental samples with proper handling and documentation.
• Travel to project sites to perform fieldwork and supervise on-site activities.
• Interact professionally with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
• Support business development and marketing activities, including cost proposals and presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
