Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, sanitary healthcare environment in a full-time hospital setting in Arkansas. You will clean patient rooms, surgical areas, and common spaces, following infection control procedures and PPE guidelines.

Responsibilities include restocking supplies, handling waste per policy, and responding to spills or emergencies while staying mindful of safety and teamwork expectations in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior housekeeping or healthcare cleaning experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize patient rooms, surgical areas, and common spaces.
  • Follow infection control procedures and PPE protocols.
  • Restock supplies and respond to spills or emergencies.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and report maintenance or safety concerns.

This role helps prevent infections and ensures compliance with hospital standards and regulatory guidelines.Clean and disinfect patient rooms, surgical areas, and common spacesFollow infection prevention and control procedures (including isolation protocols)Dispose of regular and biohazard waste according to policiesClean high-touch surfaces (bed rails, doorknobs, equipment)Restock supplies such as linens, gloves, and PPEOperate cleaning equipment safely (floor machines, vacuums, etc.)Report maintenance or safety concerns promptlyRespond to spills and emergency cleaning requestsRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior housekeeping or healthcare cleaning experience preferredKnowledge of infection control practices is a plusAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong attention to detail and teamwork skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25–50 poundsAbility to perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsAbility to push carts and operate cleaning equipmentWork EnvironmentWork is performed in a hospital setting with exposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and infectiousmaterials.
