Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation - West Orange is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) / Housekeeping for per diem, 3PM–11PM shifts at the West Orange, NJ location. Compensation is $19.30 per hour plus shift differential, with opportunities for advancement and a focus on patient comfort and safety.

The role requires prior housekeeping experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Per diem schedule includes six shifts every six weeks, with three weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of housekeeping/EVS experience.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient areas, corridors and rooms clean to support patient recovery.
• Report repair issues and needs for building maintenance.
• Maintain floors through dust mopping and wet mopping as needed.
• Clean and polish metal trim, furnishings and equipment; wash walls, windows, and beds.
• Strip, wax and buff floors using proper safety precautions.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, towels and toilet tissue.

Schedule: Per Diem (PRN), 3PM - 11PM(Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)

Responsibilities

Housekeepers /Environmental Services Technicians (EVS) help provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere in our hospitals. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery and visitor satisfaction by keeping the halls, stations, waiting rooms, and patient rooms clean.

• Assists in maintaining the quality and appearance of the physical plant by reporting repair issues and needs on a daily basis or as needed.

• Keeps floors clean and safe by dust mopping and wet mopping as necessary.

• Cleans and polishes all metal trim, furnishing, and/or equipment as necessary, as well as washes walls, windows, and beds as assigned.

• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors as assigned using safety precautions to properly carry out the procedures.

• Assists in moving furniture as requested. Replenishes supplies, including soap, towels, and toilet tissue, as well as other disposable items.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Previous Hospital EVS experience preferred.

Per Diem Requirement:

Must be available to work Six (6) shifts per Six (6) week schedule; Three (3) must be on the Weekend (Saturday's or Sunday's).
