Job Description
To provide a clean, safe, sanitary, and appealing environment at The Christ Hospital.
Responsibilities
All duties and responsibilities of an Environmental Services Tech II include:
- Promoting patient safety.
- Cleaning patient rooms and discharges as required.
- Knowledge of all ESI chemicals and procedures.
- Providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Routine Floor Maintenance
- Knowledge and training in the use and maintenance of floor machines, Boost technology, auto-scrubbers, and automatic burnishers.
- Following guidelines for dust mopping, wet mopping, and spot mopping hard surface corridors, including heavier equipment use.
Floor Stripping and Refinishing
- Experience in and proper preparation of floors for refinishing, including stripping and scrubbing surfaces.
- Detailing prepared surfaces, including edges, corners, behind doors, and cove base.
- Knowing when floors are ready for finish and applying the appropriate number of coats.
- Cleaning equipment and disposing of unused products safely per department policy.
- Following all safety protocols to protect oneself and others.
Carpet Spotting and Cleaning
- Proper carpet cleaning techniques using correct chemicals and equipment.
- Knowledge of vacuum sweepers, cleaners, floor machines, and extractors.
- Cleaning equipment and disposing of unused products safely.
- Adhering to safety protocols.
Trash Hauling
- Learning all areas of trash removal and routes.
- Covering gondolas during transit.
- Using a steam autoclave and shredder for bio trash, reading graphs, and recording weights and temperatures.
- Following department PPE and safety procedures.
Confidentiality
- Following hospital policies and federal regulations on patient confidentiality.
- Annual testing on Safety and Confidentiality.
Basic Computer Knowledge
- Learning MS Office Outlook for emails.
- Passing required annual Stat Tests.
Qualifications
Other tasks as required, including meeting setups and recycling.
Knowledge and Skills
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Two years of experience, including floor care.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Healthcare housekeeping customer service skills.
- Use of floor equipment as specified.
- Knowledge of computers is preferred but not required.
Licenses & Certifications
None specified beyond experience and skills.
