Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician at Atrium Health Lake Norman to maintain clean and safe medical facilities for staff and visitors. The schedule is 2300-0730 Monday through Friday with 40 hours per week; starting pay ranges from $18.85 to $28.30 per hour and includes benefits and wellness programs.

Responsibilities include complete cleaning of assigned areas, restocking restrooms, reporting repairs, and adhering to infection control guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work on time.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work with co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas thoroughly including furniture and fixtures.
• Dust and sanitize surfaces; wash windows.
• Sweep, scrub, and refinish floors.

• Restock restrooms and replace light bulbs.

Atrium Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician. This position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:

8. Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to:

• Dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures


• Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures


• Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors


• Vacuuming and shampooing carpet


• Re-stocking restrooms


• Replacing light bulbs


• Reporting repairs

Most of the work is indoors but may assist with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof. Various cleaning activities may include the use of a ladder.

9. Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.

10. Removes waste by:

• Collecting and transporting soiled linen


• Emptying trash containers


• Changing sharps containers


• Transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors


• Recycling material


• Emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas

11. Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.

12. Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.

13. Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.

14. Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.

Qualified Candidates

• Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent


• Preferred: One year experience
