Job summary

Atrium Health Lake Norman is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Technician to maintain clean and safe facilities for patients and staff. You will perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, handle waste, restock supplies, and report equipment issues.

Starting pay is $18.85 per hour with benefits including college tuition assistance, wellness incentives, parental leave, health insurance, and retirement contributions. Work schedule is 2300-0730 Monday to Friday with on-call as needed.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred: One year experience
  • Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
  • Can operate equipment
  • Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers

Responsibilities

  • Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to: dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures
  • Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures
  • Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors
  • Vacuuming and shampooing carpet
  • Restocking restrooms
  • Replacing light bulbs
  • Reporting repairs
  • Most of the work is indoors but may assist with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof; may involve ladder
  • Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes
  • Removes waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash, changing sharps containers, transporting hazardous waste, recycling
  • Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff
  • Maintains safe working environment and adheres to infection control guidelines and departmental quality standards
  • Attends required in-service education and training classes including safety updates to maintain technical knowledge
  • Demonstrates ability to meet time schedules and deadlines

Atrium Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician. This position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:

  • 12. Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
  • 13. Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
  • 14. Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
