Job summary

Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE invites you to join the Environmental Services team. Under direct supervision you maintain sanitary, safe, and orderly conditions across the medical center, supporting patients, visitors, and staff.

As an EVS Associate you perform floor care, linen distribution, and general cleaning, following schedules and methods to prevent cross-contamination and uphold aseptic conditions. Previous healthcare cleaning experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Familiarity with basic EVS equipment and cleaning protocols.
• Experience operating floor equipment, sweepers, and commercial washers/dryers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas in sanitary, safe, and orderly condition under direct supervision.
• Aids in preventing cross-contamination and sustaining aseptic conditions.
• Perform floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, and carpet care.
• Manage linen distribution and inventory records.

Overview

Under direct supervision maintain assigned areas with the medical center in sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly condition.

Responsibilities

The Environmental Services (EVS) Associate aids in maintaining a high-quality standard of housekeeping. This includes performing cleaning functions in assigned areas while following assigned schedules and specific methods to provide patients, visitors, and staff with a sanitary, orderly, and safe patient care environment. EVS Associates aid in prevention of cross contamination, controlling bacteria, odor, and sustaining acceptable aseptic conditions. They may assist with furniture moves, recycling, curtain replacement, delivery of supplies, and the removal of trash and biohazard waste.

Floor Care

• Sweep, mop, wax vinyl tile floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets, and scrub grout areas as required.
• Report any floor issues that need more than routine cleaning, such as worn areas, for scheduling of deeper maintenance.
• Complete floor care tasks/projects with walk-behind machines, side-by-side scrubbers, carpet extractors etc..

Linnen Care

• Managing, sorting, cleaning, and distributing clean linens throughout the hospital and collecting solid linens
• Inventory management by keeping records of linen levels

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in healthcare, school, or hospitality setting.
• Experience operating floor equipment, sweepers, and commercial washers/dryers.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
