Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago is seeking an EVS Technician to maintain a sanitary and orderly environment across patient areas and facilities. You will perform cleaning tasks, stock supplies, and assist with room setups in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include floor care, waste removal, linen handling and occasional grounds maintenance. The role may involve weekend shifts and exposure to various conditions typical in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of following oral or written instructions and basic arithmetic.
• Familiar with routine work procedures and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Interpersonal skills for contact with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs general housekeeping such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming and carpet shampooing.
• Cleans and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors; replenishes soap, towels, toilet paper and other supplies.
• Strips, buffs and applies wax to floors in designated areas.
• Picks up trash, empties wastebaskets and transports to designated outside location.
• Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, radiators and blinds in patient rooms and corridors.
• Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; sets up meeting rooms.
• Maintains outside grounds during summer; may operate snow plow tractor in winter.
• Removes soiled bed linen and makes beds with fresh linen at discharge.
• Assists with other duties in the best interest of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Performs a variety of duties including cleaning and dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. The EVS Technician is also responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
