Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a night-shift Environmental Services associate to clean patient and public areas, sanitize surfaces, and maintain infection control standards. You will document work, stock supplies, and support bed throughput using the Bed Management system in a hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1+ year in a medical office, and prefer CNA certification. Strong organization and English communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Excellent communication and English literacy.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily and disposes of waste.
• Operates cleaning equipment and follows infection control procedures.
• Documents all work performed and maintains records.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms and offices as needed.
• Maintains bed throughput using Bed Management system.

Job Description:

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Document all work performed.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.
• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput, using hand-held technology for tracking.

• Full knowledge of basic environmental duties [Required]
• Understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9/10, and CPT-4 coding [Required]
