Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Akron is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS)/Housekeeping for evenings in Akron, OH, per diem. The role focuses on maintaining a clean environment across patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, kitchens and lobby areas with emphasis on infection control and compassionate service.

Minimum qualifications include housekeeping experience; preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and prior EVS hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Previous Housekeeping experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospital EVS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean work environment in assigned areas including patient rooms, offices, lounges, bathrooms and lobby areas.
• Ensure sanitation, order and appearance of the hospital are upheld.
• Perform light manual housekeeping tasks according to schedules and procedures.
• Clean furnishings, floors and equipment with appropriate cleaning solutions to prevent disease spread.
• Dust surfaces, empty trash, and arrange furniture in an orderly fashion.
• Make beds with clean linen and replenish supplies as needed.

Position: Environmental Services Technician (EVS)/Housekeeping

Location: Akron, OH

Schedule: Per Diem/PRN/As Needed - Evenings - 12:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Compensation: $17.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Consistently demonstrate commitment to customer service excellence in all interactions with patients, family members, visitors and other staff members.

• Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurse’s stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators and lobby areas.

• Responsibility for the overall condition of the hospital, including sanitation, order, and appearance.

• Performing light manual work, ensuring that routine housekeeping tasks are being performed according to established schedules and procedures.

• Cleaning assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.

• Using dust cloths and the vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture; emptying ashtrays and trash buckets; arranging furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.

• Making beds with clean linen in prescribed manner; scouring and polishing sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment; replenishing supplies of soap, towels and other dispensable items.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous Housekeeping experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent preferred.

• Previous hospital EVS experience preferred.
