Job Description

To provide a clean, safe, sanitary, and appealing environment at The Christ Hospital.

Responsibilities

EVS Staff Promotes Patient Safety

• Clean patient areas daily with approved germicide and cleaning chemicals.
• Use wet floor signs or caution alerts where hazards exist.
• Follow infection control procedures, including proper hand washing, aseptic technique, and PPE usage.
• Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure a positive hospital experience.
• Maintain department policies on equipment placement and cleanliness.

Cleaning and Sanitizing

• Clean patient rooms daily, following proper procedures.
• Clean non-patient areas such as nurses’ stations, offices, waiting rooms, and restrooms.
• Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms upon discharge.

Customer Service

• Interact with patients, visitors, and staff with a service-oriented attitude.
• Ensure rooms are cleaned to patient satisfaction.
• Use scripting to inquire about additional needs.
• Leave notes and hospital packets as appropriate upon patient discharge.

Confidentiality

• Follow hospital policies and federal regulations on patient confidentiality.
• Complete annual safety and confidentiality testing.

Basic Computer Knowledge

• Learn MS Office Outlook for email communication.
• Pass required annual safety tests.
• Learn to use the NaviCare system for bed tracking.

Other Tasks
