Job summary

FLACRA is seeking detail-oriented Environmental Service Technicians to join our maintenance team in Clifton Springs, NY. This entry-level, part-time role focuses on keeping patient and non-patient areas clean, safe, and sanitary in accordance with infection control and safety guidelines.

You will perform general cleaning, operate floor care equipment, restock supplies, and communicate progress to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required or preferred.
• Valid New York State Driver's License is required.
• Previous building cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed but straightforward oral and written instructions.
• Ability to interact courteously with staff, officials, and the public.
• Capable of bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, up to 6 hours per day.
• Willingness to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and detailed cleaning of rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, stairways, and windows, following standard operating procedures and schedules.
• Use brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors.
• Operate vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers to clean carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and blinds.
• Refill supplies, remove trash, and replace trash liners as needed.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills to ensure a clean and sanitized environment.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols, including proper storage and use of cleaning chemicals, and appropriate placement of 'wet floor' signs.
• Open and close buildings according to established security procedures.
• Complete assigned cleaning tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Communicate progress or issues to the supervisor, either orally or through written work orders.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
