Job summary

The Environmental Services Technician (EVS) at CHI Health Lasting Hope Recovery Center keeps patient areas clean and safe by following established procedures, using PPE, and adhering to infection control practices.

You will operate cleaning equipment, handle waste and soiled linens, complete discharge room cleans, and report maintenance needs while benefiting from a $1,500 sign-on bonus and shift incentives for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with hospital sanitation is a plus.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas daily following procedures.
• Operates mechanical, battery-powered and electric cleaning equipment; maintains equipment.
• Handles designated waste streams and soiled linens per policy.
• Performs stat and routine discharge room cleans.
• Follows Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices; reports maintenance needs.
• Inspects EVS equipment for cleanliness and repair needs.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) at CHI Health, you'll join a team of EVS techs who prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and visitors by ensuring a safe and sanitized environment for all.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to understand the importance of why and how we sanitize and disinfect different environments. You are in total control of your space- where process and supplies matter. You appreciate the cleanliness of our hospital, and it is a direct reflection of how we care for the people in our community.

We provide you with personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep you safe and while you're providing that same level of safety to others.

Everyday You Will Be Expected To

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas as assigned daily following established procedures.
• Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintains and stores all equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Collects, handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens in the prescribed manner.
• Completes stat and routine discharge room cleans.
• Adheres to all hospital required Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices, Identifies and reports work orders for maintenance/refurbishing needs.
• Inspects EVS equipment for cleanliness and need for repair.

We are offering a $1,500 Sign on Bonus and Shift Incentive to new hires that meet eligibility requirements.

A 64-bed adult psychiatric facility, Lasting Hope Recovery Center is a place of healing. All of the rooms are private. CHI Health Lasting Hope Recovery Center offers an entire range of treatment and prevention services to meet the needs of patients experiencing both challenges. Treatment is built on personal strengths and support systems that treat individuals experiencing these illnesses.

Pay Range

$15.67 - $22.14 /hour
