Job summary

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is hiring an Environmental Services Technician (EVS). You will sanitize and disinfect patient areas, operate cleaning equipment, and handle waste and linens in a safe, compliant environment.

We provide PPE and emphasize infection control, safety, and teamwork to maintain a clean, safe hospital for patients, staff, and visitors. The role includes shift-based work with a stated pay range of $15.67–$22.14 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas following procedures.
• Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as floor cleaners and vacuums.
• Collects and handles waste streams and soiled linens per guidelines.
• Perform discharge room cleans as needed.
• Follow Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices.
• Identify and report maintenance/refurbishing needs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) at CHI Health, you’ll join a team of EVS techs who prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and visitors by ensuring a safe and sanitized environment for all.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to understand the importance of why and how we sanitize and disinfect different environments. You are in total control of your space- where process and supplies matter.

We provide you with personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep you safe and while you’re providing that same level of safety to others.

Everyday You Will Be Expected To

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas as assigned daily following established procedures.
• Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintains and stores all equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Collects, handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens in the prescribed manner.
• Completes stat and routine discharge room cleans.
• Adheres to all hospital required Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices
• Identifies and reports work orders for maintenance/refurbishing needs.

Pay Range
