Job summary

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) to help maintain a safe, clean hospital environment for patients, staff and visitors. You will sanitize spaces, operate cleaning equipment, and follow strict PPE and infection control practices.

An on-site role with a focus on patient-centered care in a Level I trauma and academic medical campus. A $1,500 Sign-on Bonus and Shift Incentive are available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas daily following procedures.
• Operates cleaning equipment and stores equipment safely.
• Handles and disposes of waste streams and soiled linens per guidelines.
• Performs discharge room cleans as required.
• Adheres to Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices.
• Identifies and reports maintenance/refurbishing needs.

Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.

Everyday You Will Be Expected To

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas as assigned daily following established procedures.
• Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintains and stores all equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Collects, handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens in the prescribed manner.
• Completes stat and routine discharge room cleans.
• Adheres to all hospital required Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices
• Identifies and reports work orders for maintenance/refurbishing needs.

We are offering a $1,500 Sign on Bonus and Shift Incentive to new hires that meet eligibility requirements.
